I remember discussing with my brother in law Mike, the things about using Amazon that frustrated us, many of the things being listed in this article. The 2 big things were the fact the it could not handle misspellings in searches unlike most search engines and the other one was that recommendations where based on all purchases including those things you purchased as gifts for others and not really your cup of tea.

Well the mispelling thing got sorted a while back, nice one Amazon and today I found that you can plough through you list of purchases and mark them as gifts and/or don't use in recommendations!! YES! Now the work begins.

Whilst on the subject of Amazon I shop at Amazon.com from time to time and being the Amazon mothership you expect different features that you like and hope to see transfer to Amazon.co.uk and I'm glad they have transferred the latest batch so now you can provide links for your reviews and your "profile". I like it.

I want the collected FREAKANGELS and mentioned that the website's chosen online retailer's P&P made it too pricey. Well I found an ISBN number for it whilst reading the online version. It's been duly preordered on Amazon.

Why is the local in quotes in the title? Well it's not that local is it? Especially when you run Flagfox in Firefox and discover that the Amazon.co.uk is hosted in Ireland!!

Chance discovery: FREAKANGELS very enjoyable. Hopefully I will be able to find the printed version in November locally or at least via a UK supplier. The P&P from the sites chosen supplier is pricey.

I searched the author Warren Ellis having purchase Ministry of Space. I also purchased Crecy but that was because I got fed up with Amazon suggesting it! I thought (wrongly I know) the only way to get shot of it bugging me about it was to buy it. Scary... I could lose a lot of money that way... never again (?).

I've yet to read it but I found this too and this.

I shall endeavour to report back on them.

.... I like Windows Live Writer better than ScribeFire (even though I've only used ScribeFire a few times now)... and I want to trim down my list of Firefox extensions as FireFox is getting a little sluggish to load and whilst most of the time it's running in the background it'd be nice for it to start faster. Couple the fact that I have the 'Blog This in Windows Live Writer' extension running I don't need ScribeFire to speedily get stuff into my blog. BTW I don't like ScribeFire's tab order; subject line to 'publishing options' then the main body.....??? Why? And I'm an Microsoft Office user.... Ctrl & K gets you to 'Insert Hyperlink'. not in ScribeFire and I just can't change they way of working now. Bye ScribeFire.

..... They've left 2 huge holes at the back of my throat!!!!!!!

Well that's the tonsillectomy done. Mr Aras said that they were very bad.... the worst he'd seen! Which is nice. Whilst he was there he removed some warts that I had on my throat too.... I had no idea they were there and he removed them FOC, no need to inform the insurers! Bonus. He's put me on antibiotics post op as the tonsils were that bad and right now.... I feel pretty good. The back of the throat feels gooey and gummy and I sound funny. Those symptoms have gotten more noticeable through the day but they feel like they've stabilised for the moment. Well see.

My sister gave me a Nokia 6230 that was surplus to requirements post free upgrade of phones on her contract. It was a lovely phone and a lovely upgrade to my older model Nokia. But it died on me(ish) and I had a look around and found the Motorola W375. Nice phone I thought. Until I used it. I could not get on with the OS. I had a whole, yes whole 500K for additional files so I could not even put a decent ring tone on it. The transfer of my contacts from the old phone was via the SIM card. Could I put the contacts back on the phone to let me organise them properly i.e. one name with multiple details against it rather than Rob, Rob1, Rob2 etc. Maybe the option was there but finding it there via the OS.... I could not see it. Then the phone started turning itself off. Only twice but couple that with the fact it only told you it was low on battery via the icon on the screen so I often missed it was out of juice... I'd had enough. New phone time. It's very nice!

Yes I did! That was a surprise when I signed into the blog so I could get it all up and running again to use with Windows Live Writer.... well as an update she's ace! And so is her sister. I'm probably jinxing the night but Hannah's sleeping is now pretty good and Rachel's is a dream too. Only bummer is the light mornings meaning they are up early. But hey ho.

Let's see if we can't keep this blogging thing up. Here's hoping!
